The site started because two of us kept sending each other pet articles that turned out to be wrong, sometimes invented outright. We were tired of headlines promising quick fixes for animal behaviour that any behaviourist would question.
So we built something slower. Every piece goes through a writer with real background in the subject, then a second reviewer who checks it against named sources before it publishes. We work directly with behaviourists, shelter staff and researchers rather than rewriting other people's posts.
We keep the business side plain too. No hidden sponsors shape what we write, a clear note marks the rare sponsored piece, and we fix anything a reader can show us is wrong, within 30 days and in the open.
We check every article against at least two named sources before it goes live.
I read every behaviour piece before it goes out, and send it back if a claim isn't backed by a solid source.
Accuracy First
We'd rather publish a shorter article than one padded with unverified claims. If we can't source it, it doesn't run.
Plain Language
We write the way we'd explain something across a kitchen table, not the way a textbook would.
Open Corrections
When we get something wrong, we say so in the article itself, not in a buried edit log.
We write about animals the way we'd explain them to a friend. Every fact is checked before it goes online.
